Blanket checks

DERBYSHIRE Fire and Rescue Service are running free electric blanket checks later this month.

Anyone aged over 60 or who is registered disabled is invited to take their electric blanket to Buxton Fire Station on Staden Lane, between 9.30am and 5pm on Wednesday, January 30, where it will be checked.

If your blanket is found to be faulty, it will be replaced with a plush fleece topper (on a first come first served basis).

Funding for the tests has come from Derbyshire County Council.
