Cuppas raise charity cash
An afternoon of tea and cakes has helped raise money for a cancer charity.
The Blooming Great Tea Party was held, raising £250 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Sue Brooks, of Market Place, Cromford, hosted the event alongside Jean Young and Beryl Thorpe.
Speaking of her co–hostesses, Sue said: “Without their hard work and cheerful smiles the day would not have been possible.”
The party included a raffle, with prizes donated, and cake sale, and Sue thanked everyone who had contributed to the day.
“May I say a huge ‘thank you’ to all who came to out Blooming Great Tea Party,” Sue continued.
“With your help we managed to raise £250 for Marie Curie Cancer Care and had a lovely time doing it.”
She said that everyone who attended enjoyed a cuppa, a cake, a ‘natter’ and a laugh.
“I hope to see everyone again next time when we can hopefully push our total even higher,” Sue concluded.
Marie Curie Cancer Care is a charity dedicated to caring for people with terminal cancer.
