Dales go bananas for fairtrade

Runners in Bakewell will be taking part in a banana relay across the Dales on Saturday in aid of Fairtrade Fortnight, which starts on Monday.

Mayor Cllr Paul Morgans will blow the whistle at 12 noon at Riverside Crescent in the fairtrade town, sounding the start of the race to Matlock.

Cllr Irene Ratcliffe said: “This is a great opportunity for the Dales to go bananas.”
