A NEW MILLS woman has raised over £1,000 in memory of her best friend who recently lost her battle with cancer.

Debbie Nevett held a ‘Cocktail and Posh Chips’ party at the Packhorse in Hayfield in November.

The event raised £1,037 for Cancer Research UK in memory of Amanda Platt, from Hazel Grove, who died in August.

Thanking everyone for their support, Debbie said: “The evening went really well, and I was surprised how kind people were in these difficult times.”
