Carnival time
The youngsters in this picture look like they are all dressed up and ready for a party.
The photograph is believed to have been taken at Matlock Carnival.
It was taken in 1949 opposite the old Ritz cinema building by Hall Leys Park, in Matlock.
The girls featured in the snap – from left to right – are Pam Thompson, Janet Vernals, Brenda Barwick, Hazel Gaunt and Brenda Williams.
The picture may have been taken on a wet day, however a little rain clearly didn’t dampen the spirits of these youngsters, as they are grinning from ear to ear.
