Players beam after medal win

This picture of happy smiling footballers was taken at Matlock’s Causeway Lane football ground in the days when it was still surrounded by open fields.

The players part of Bakewell Football Club and they are celebrating after becoming DFA medal winners for the period of 1959 – 60.

The men pictured from the front left are Godfrey Frankland, Ken Dalton, Dave Mellor, Don Beard and Roger Marvin.

From the top left is Roy Webster, Neville Gibson, Bob Webster, Mr Gilbert, Brian Bonsall and Owen Bonsall.
