We have funds to cover deficit

Thank you for publicising the Matlock Film Society in last week’s Mercury. However, I wish to correct one comment regarding the financial aspect of the society. While we did have around a £500 deficit last year, there were sufficient funds in reserve to cover this. Ultimately, if we continued to make these losses, the committee members may be liable for any deficit. However, I wish to stress that no ordinary member of the society would be liable for any losses. Of course, it goes without saying that we are endeavouring to put the finances in order and hence our current recruitment drive.
