Lady Manners School in Bakewell was the scene of much celebration on Thursday morning as pupils opened their A-level results.
Few students were disappointed with their results and four students – Elliot Banks, Nicholas Bennett, Joseph Griffiths and Amy Nicholson – gained five As each.

The 162 Year 13 students achieved A and B grades for 45 per cent of the A-level exams they sat.

Headteacher Duncan Meikle said: "There are many other good performances at a variety of levels and lots of students are now in a strong position to be able to move on to their next stage.

"There is no doubt that the results are well deserved.

"Congratulations to students and staff who have had to work very hard to achieve such successes," added Mr Meikle.

Five students celebrated getting four grade As and another nine got three grade As.
