If you have got your results but do not feel ready to leap back into education maybe you could think about taking a gap year.

One of the worst mistakes a university goer can make is picking a course that does not suit them, then 12 months later, minus £3000 of tuition fees, ex-students find themselves back on the sofa at mum and dad's place and no better off.

If you haven't yet decided the course for you why not have a year out?

Gap years offer students a chance to take a break, assess what they really want to do while at the same time gaining life skills and experience- whether it be back-packing round Australia or conservation work in Africa.
