Special screening for WW1 film
Local actor Jack O’Connell will be introducing a Remembrance Sunday screening of the film Private Peaceful at Quad in Derby on Sunday, November 11.
Private Peaceful (12A) is based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, whose book War Horse was also successfully adapted for the big screen.
Private Peaceful is also set during World War One in the fields of Devon and on the battlefields of Flanders. George MacKay takes the lead role of Tommo Peaceful as he navigates the pressures of family, shared love for the same girl as his brother Charlie, as well as the horrors of war. Derby’s Jack O’Connell stars as Charlie Peaceful, along with a cast which includes Richard Griffiths, John Lynch, Frances De La Tour and Maxine Peake.
Jack O’Connell will be introducing Private Peaceful on November 11 at 6.15pm. The film also screens in Quad on November 9 and. Tickets are £7.40 and £5.75 concessions.
