Chapel-en-le-frith Male Voice Choir will be holding a concert in the beautiful St John’s Church in Buxton on Sunday, February 26 at 7.30pm.

The choir, singing under the baton of musical director Roger Briscoe, will be over 40 members strong and will sing a brand new repertoire of Songs from the Shows.

Widely recognised as one of the premier concert male voice choirs in the district and with a brand new repertoire for this concert, the choir will be performing with the Dark Peak Orchestra.

The performance of Songs from the Shows will feature music from Les Miserables, Jesus Christ Superstar, Paint Your Wagon and other top musicals.

The Dark Peak Orchestra and Concert Band is an ensemble of young musicians from the Glossop, New Mills, Chapel-en-le-Frith and Hayfield area. The Dark Peak Music Trust provides opportunities for players from beginner to advanced levels to play together in a carefully structured family of ensembles.

With over 150 members, the emphasis is on high standards of achievement in an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere, giving young players the best opportunities to develop their interest in music and the friendships that are born out of playing together.

The concert promises to be a grand evening’s musical entertainment. Tickets, priced £7.50 (Under 16 free) are available on the door or via Gary Mellor on 01298 812258 or Geoff Read on 01298 71234.
