Messiah concert at Belper church

The Derby-based chamber choir Derwent Singers are to perform Handel’s Messiah at Christchurch, Bridge Street, Belper on Saturday, November 24, beginning at 7.30pm.

The award-winning choir will be conducted by Richard Roddis, well-known throughout the East Midlands, and the organist will be Tom Corfield of Derby Cathedral.

The Derwent Singers have been part of the musical scene in Derby for over 40 years and the 28 singers and soloists are eagerly awaiting their first formal concert in Belper.

Listeners are promised a sumptuous performance of Handel’s masterpiece in the magnificent acoustic of this beautiful church.

Uniquely, the audience will be able to join in the famous Hallelujah Chorus (no previous experience needed!)

Refreshments will be available during the interval.
