Musical divas in the spotlight
Award–winning Australian singer/actor Melissa Western visits Holloway on Thursday, February 9, for the only performance in Derbyshire on her current tour.
This brand new show at the Florence Nightingale Memorial Hall, is a feast of music ranging from opera to folk to jazz to rock.
Melissa takes you on a tour of the 20th century with the great divas as your guides. You know the classic songs of the greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Maria Callas, Judy Garland, Patsy Cline, and many more, but do you know their stories? This will be a cabaret-style night filled with amazing anecdotes, fun for the audience and great quality music. Joining Melissa are Giovanni Cacioppo, a Sicilian guitarist with a flair for dynamic live performance and Australia double bass player, Greg Gottlieb providing the essential groove.
