Derby Concert Orchestra’s annual Family Concert is to be held at Derby Cathedral on Saturday, December 15, starting at 7pm.

Conducted by Jonathan Trout, the programme will feature a wide selection of popular classical music, from Dukas’s sparkling orchestral showpiece The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, to Khachaturian’s Adagio from Spartacus, familiar in this country to people of a certain age as the theme music to 1970s TV show The Onedin Line.

There will also be selections from My Fair Lady and The Sound Of Music, festive favourites such as Leroy Anderson’s Christmas Festival Overture and carols for audience members to join in with.

Tickets to see the concert are available on the door, from orchestra members or from Foulds Music Shop in Derby.
