NDET 26-7-12 MC 8 Derby Panto cast launch peter Pan at Matlock Bath's Gullivers Kingdom.

GULLIVERS’ Kingdom in Matlock Bath was the setting last week as the stars come out for the official launch of the Derby Assembly Rooms 2012 pantomime.

The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan can be seen at the city centre venue from December 5-January 6, with the Assembly Rooms’ panto once again to be produced by the experienced Paul Holman Associates.

They have lined up a star-packed cast for the family show, headed by Larry Lamb as Captain Hook with George Sampson as Peter Pan and Mike ‘Squeaky’ McClean as Smee.

Loved and loathed, Larry Lamb was voted Villain of the Year for his menacing portrayal of the ‘archetypal Mitchell’ in the BBC’s EastEnders.

Having terrorised and tormented his family and neighbours, Archie Mitchell was finally killed off on Christmas Day 2009, in a programme watched by nearly 17 million viewers.

George Sampson is the hugely talented street dancer who charmed the country, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, and danced his way into the nation’s hearts with his spine-tingling winning dance routine Singin’ in the Rain.

George has really shown his versatility on stage, screen and television in recent years. Following his smash-hit win on the popular peak-time ITV programme, he made his successful West End debut in the hip-hop musical Into the Hoods, appearing as one of the Lost Boys.

Since then, George’s career has gone from strength to strength with two successful big screen box office number one hits, StreetDance HD and StreetDance 2.

Mike ‘Squeaky’ McClean will provide a barrel of laughs as he returns to Derby to play the villainous Hook’s shipmate Smee and Jason Sutton as Dame Able Mable will be keeping everyone ship-shape and seaworthy.

The croc is ticking so don’t delay. Join the fun for sumptuous costumes, superb sets, lots of audience participation and a good helping of fairy dust.
