Folk star heads home for Xmas
BBC Folk Award winner Bella Hardy is hitting the road again with her festive tour Bright Morning Star, which stops off in her home village next week.
Hardy and her band will be at Edale Village Hall on Wednesday December 12, at 8pm, for a performance which will also celebrate the release of her Bright Morning Star album.
Bright Morning Star is a glittering collection of festive treats from Hardy’s regional Castleton carols Sons of Men and Peace o’er the World, to well-known classics Rockin Around The Christmas Tree and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
There are traditional favourites such as Sing Ovy Sing Ivy, and The Coventry Carol. There’s even a bit of Shaking Stevens’ Merry Christmas Everybody and Barenaked Ladies’ Footprints.
Joining Hardy on the tour will be guitarist Anna Massie and concertina genius Chris Sherburn.
Tickets, priced £10, are available from Jan Hardy on 01433 670370 or jan.hardy@btinternet.com.
