Trio’s third appearance
Harp and a Monkey
MANCHESTER’S newest darlings of electro folk are set to make a welcome return to New Mills.
Harp and a Monkey will be appearing at New Mills Town Hall on Saturday February 9, at 7.30pm, as part of New Mills Festival’s annual fundraiser.
Having performed at the Art Lounge and Spring Bank Arts Centre on previous visits, the Manchester-based trio jumped at the chance to play the town hall, a bigger venue. Both previous visits have been extremely popular, and with a new album due for release in February this will be a chance for a first listen to their new material.
Group member Martin Purdy, who makes up Harp and a Monkey with Andy Smith and Simon Jones, said: “We are delighted to count New Mills as one of our regular gigging venues. We’re really looking forward to our next visit.”
Tickets, priced £7.50 (£6 concessions), are available from W.Barton on Market Street, High Street Books, Brenda’s Cards in the Indoor Market, or online at www.newmillsfestival.com.
