Landowners are being offered cash to help stop the decline in native woodland birds in Derbyshire.
The Forestry Commission has launched a new grant scheme to encourage landowners to improve habitat for 16 vulnerable species, including Redstarts, Tree Pipits, Spotted Flycatchers and Marsh Tits.
David Bole, from Forestry Commission East Midlands, said: "The Peak District, together with an area running through Derbyshire and into Sherwood Forest, is nationally important for woodland birds.
"If we can improve the habitat in these areas it will significantly boost their fortunes. What we need now is for land managers to step forward and work with us to secure the future of these wonderful birds," he added.
