A surprise party was held to mark the retirement of a Dales playground supervisor after 37 years in the job.
Staff, parents and pupils from Wirksworth Pre-school paid tribute to Elizabeth Bunting at the party which included a barbecue, tributes and a presentation.

Past and present pupils also went along to say goodbye to Elizabeth.

Teacher Sue Czertowicz said: "It was marvellous evening.

"She was really surprised and taken aback."

Sue said Elizabeth had worked at Wirksworth Pre-school and Wirksworth Infants School and was well-known to several generations of people from the town.

Sue added: "She was sad to be leaving – 37 years is a very long time and she'll certainly be missed."
