Almost 100 people viewed plans to extend Tearsall Quarry at an public exhibition in Darley Dale.
The five day event held at the Whitworth Centre was a chance to view detailed proposals for Bonsall Moor and speak to members of the development team.

A spokesperson for Glebe Mines and INEOS said they were pleased with the level of interest shown.

Dr Gary Goodyear, from the company, said: "We were pleased with the number of people who attended the public exhibition and appreciated the opportunity to explain the importance of the proposals to local residents, political representatives and stakeholder groups.

"We felt it was important to gauge the community's response to the proposals and interacting with local people is the only meaningful way to listen to the views of local residents. We are now reviewing all feedback received at the exhibition and will endeavour to address the many comments and concerns."

Proposals to extract around 660,000 tonnes of fluorspar ore over a six-year period, were approved by Darley Dale Town Council at a meeting on June 19.

Councillors said they had no objection to the extension plans.
