Stand pilgrimage to honour comrades
Former soldiers and their families are getting ready to make the annual pilrimage to Crich War Memorial to honour fallen friends and comrades.
Members of the Sherwood Foresters and the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters regiments who have lost their lives in all wars since the First World War in 1914 will be commemorated by the ceremony on Sunday.
Among those remembered will be Drummer Thomas Wright, of Ripley, who was killed in Afghanistan last year.
His name, along with others killed in the past year, will be inscribed on the memorial and unveiled as part of the ceremony.
The Annual Regimental Pilgrimage will be held at the Crich Stand memorial at 3pm.
It will be led by Acting Colonel of the Sherwood Forester's regiment, Brigadier A R D Sharpe and the service of commemoration will be led by the Rt Rev A Porter, Bishop of Sherwood.
