Bobbies stepped out on an unusual beat to raise money for charity – and encouraged others to follow in their footsteps.
A Bakewell police station team did an early trip round the short course of the Three Charities Challenge sponsored walk, which will be held in June. Work commitments will prevent them taking part on the day.

Pc Kevin Lowe said: "It's going to be a great event and Helen's Trust, Bakewell and Eyam Community Transport and the Edale Mountain Rescue will all benefit.

"We've had a big trophy donated by Brian Long from the neighbourhood watch team, and there's a 72-pint cask of ale up for grabs.

"The rugby team have already entered and I think there'll be a few other people out there who might want to challenge them," he said.

There will be short friendly route, and longer competitive route with prizes for the fastest teams of five.

The walks will start at The Bakewell Show office on Sunday June 1 at 10am. Entry will cost £25.
