SCRIPTS are being set down, instruments wheeled into place and buttons sewn on, ahead of the opening night of the Peak District's best-known panto.
Stars of Youlgrave Pantomime's production of Sleeping Beauty will embark on a gruelling two-week schedule of performances, starting on Monday night.

Jan Wilson, who has produced the panto for 31 years, said: "It's been going extremely well."

Four villagers will provide the soundtrack by playing a wide array of instruments, including Youlgrave Church's clavinova, which will be wheeled down Main Street to the village hall this weekend.

Tickets cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for children for the play, held at the hall at 7.30pm from Monday to Saturday.

There will be matinees at 2.30pm on both Saturdays, but no show on Monday February 1.
