A VILLAGE pub that has undergone a make-over has been officially opened by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
The Devonshire Arms at Pilsley has been closed for 16 weeks for a refurbishment but opened this month after being returned to the management of the Chatsworth Estate.

The inn now offers a modern bar mixed with traditional pub character plus seven new bedrooms.

Manager Lee Vye said, "I am already getting to know some of the villagers and look forward to being part of the community.

"Everyone has already made me feel very welcome and I am really pleased we've been able to recruit local staff."
