Thieves snuck into a Peak District football team's changing rooms while the players were on the pitch.
The robbers took mobile phones, a tracksuit, coats and a silver necklace from the sports pavilion at Haddon Road in Bakewell on Thursday.

A police spokeswoman said: "There was a team out enjoying a game of football, but when they went back to the
changing rooms several items were gone."

Bakewell Sports Partnership chairman Chris Levick said he was shocked and disappointed.

"It's such a shame when things like this go on because we have always been able to be so trusting.

"Nothing like this has happened before in the eight or nine years I have been around here," he added.

"We always try to lock the door, but it's not possible all the time," he added.

The theft happened between 5.15pm and 7.15pm.

Witnesses told police they had seen two girls and a boy enter the changing rooms, then walk off towards the town centre.

They said one of the girls was in her mid-teens and wore a pale blue hooded top with white trousers. She had a distinctive white bag with a black square on its side.

The boy was said to be in his mid-teens and wearing a beige shirt under a blue tracksuit top.

Witnesses should call 0845 123 3333.
