After months of consultation, a local Bakewell charity will be launching their new logo from September. And it hasn’t cost a penny!
The new logo marks a new era as the charity works hard to meet an ever increasing demand for its services.
“The current economic climate and the wide rural area that we cover mean even more people need our services,” said CEO, Heidi Megaughin, “By introducing a new logo we’re looking to the future and making sure that we can continue to provide vital services to local people with terminal illness living at home.”
Helen’s Trust supporter and branding expert David Exley of Ledgard Jepson near Barnsley has offered his time, skills and contacts to the charity free of charge.
The charity is keen to point out that the new logo has not cost the charity a penny.
“We are indebted to David and Ledgard Jepson,” said Communications and Events Manager, Helen Carr, “Not only have they created our new logo free of charge, they’ve also called in favours from suppliers who in turn have produced all our new signage and printed materials free of charge. Where there has been a cost, they’ve footed the bill. It really is an incredible gift.”
Originally run entirely by volunteers, Helen’s Trust started life in Baslow twelve years ago. In 2009 the charity moved to an office in Bakewell and took on their first paid member of staff. Four years on and the charity now employs full time CEO Heidi Megaughin and five dedicated part time staff.
Over the years the charity has expanded its services to cover all of North Derbyshire and the High Peak area. The charity helps more and more people every year and in 2012 the charity provided support, equipment, care and services to 223 people living with terminal illness at home.
