A man has suffered a serious head injury after he was allegedly struck with a bottle.

Police were called to Vibe in Holywell Street, Chesterfield, at around 3.50am today (February 8) to reports that a 23-year-old man was injured.

He has been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.
