Adult learners offered new course programme

Anyone interested in learning a new skill this year is invited to find out what courses are on offer at the Derbyshire Eco Centre.

The centre, in Porter Lane, Middleton, is run by Derbyshire County Council and has a programme of courses ranging from conservation to knitting.

The courses are for all abilities and can run for up to fifteen weeks over one term or can be short courses set out over several days or weeks.

Cabinet member for education, Cllr Mike Longden, said: “By achieving a qualification like this people can expect to develop skills they can apply to everyday life.

“It has the potential to progress people in their careers but equally if you’re just looking for something different to do they can bring variety and fun into your life too.”
