Bakewell Show draws in more crowds
The Bakewell Show continued to draw in crowds last week, after the weather picked up on Thursday.
Show manager Janet Bailey said the event increased in popularity after a slow - and wet - start with around 60,000 visitors attending over the two days.
She added: "Whether you're wearing wellies or flip flops at Bakewell Show you can still have a cracking time.
"Highlights included the mounted games, which were very exciting because Derbyshire won by only half-a-point - that really got the crowd going.
"We also had a call from a horse competitor who said she'd had a terrible year.
"But she'd come to Bakewell for the first time and really enjoyed it."
