Bakewell Young Farmers waltz to victory

editorial image

Bakewell Young Farmers have proved they are Derbyshire’s finest movers after retaining their regional ballroom dancing title.

The group beat teams from Belper, Derby and Ashover to waltz into the next East Midlands round of the competition, to be held in Skegness on Saturday, March 9.

But Young Farmers from across Derbyshire are proving they can turn their hand to anything as they compete against each other in Cheerleading and Drama competitions later this month too.

Teams from Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne, Derby and Ashover will be entering a Cheerleading competition on Friday, February 15 at 8pm at Ashover Village Hall. The competition is open to the public from 7.30pm and entry is £1.

The drama competition is taking place at the New Mills Art Theatre on Sunday, February 24 at 12.30pm. Entry is £5. For more information call 07527719080.
