A BARN that contained more than 50 bails of hay burst into flames prompting swift action from emergency services.
On Saturday, September 29 at 7.45pm, firefighters were called to reports of a barn fire on Manchester Road in Buxton.
Upon arrival crews from Buxton, Whaley Bridge, Longnor and Bradwell discovered that fifty bails of hay were ‘well alight’ in the barn.
Crews used two main jets to extinguish the blaze and then began removing the bails from the barn.
Police were also in attendance for the purposes of keeping traffic moving along Manchester Road.
The farmer and owner of the premises were instructed to keep a watchful eye on the barn overnight to ensure it did not ignite again.
