Brave teenager takes the plunge
A daring teen has taken a leap of faith in a bid to raise cash for charity.
Katie Doull, of Matlock, jumped out of a plane at 13,000 feet as part of a tandem sky dive.
The 16–year–old, who attends Highfields School, did it to raise money for Help for Heroes.
“It was the first time I had ever done a sky dive,” she recalled.
“When I was sat on the edge of the plane I was absolutely petrified, but as soon as you jump that all goes away. It’s exhilarating.”
Far from being put off by the sensation of hurtling to the ground at lightening speed, Katie is thinking about repeating the experience to raise more cash for the same charity.
“I chose Help for Heroes because some of my family are in the army and I thought it was a good charity,” she explained.
“All my friends supported me and donated, and I also had a charity bake sale, which they helped me with.”
Katie managed to raise £610 from her skydive.
