The following day, on Christmas Eve, the Buxton and Derby teams were called to Hartington to help a 68-year-old walker who had injured his knee earlier in the day but continued to walk on it until he couldn’t walk any further.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team were called to help a man who had become stranded 50-60 feet down a steep slope leading into the Torrs, New Mills, on Boxing Day. The man was released by other services on the scene.
On the same day, the team were also called to locate a walker stranded on Kinder, having been caught out by loss of daylight. He had a good idea where he was and the team were able to find him quickly, and escort him safely back.
