Buxton gets cooking for Comic Relief

A Buxton retailer has swapped power tools for sponge cakes in a bid to raise charity cash.

World of Power, in Dew Pond Lane, held a cake–off in aid of Comic Relief, during which staff made two layer sponge cakes with anything and everything on them.

The event was judged by Hollie Wicks of Delicious Delights, who named the lemon and poppy seed cake as the winner.

Cakes where then sold and raised £50 for the charity, with the official Comic Relief sweepstake continuing throughout the rest of the week.
