A Buxton personal trainer is taking a team of 30 runners from the town to take part in an obstacle race next Saturday.

Carl Lambert, of Guaranteed Fitness, is leading a group to take part in the 5 and 10-kilometre X-Runner Mad Monk in Derby.

Entrant Hannah Moore said: “It will involve being knee and sometimes neck deep in water and mud, swimming across ice cold lakes, climbing over nets and crawling through tunnels among other things.”

Hannah is running in aid of Headway, after two of her friends were involved in incidents which left them with brain injuries last year.

Adele Murray and Helen and Richard Arnold are all running it in aid of Cancer Research UK.
