Chinley Primary School’s spring fair, which is taking place this weekend, will have a carnival atmosphere as it celebrates the forthcoming World Cup.

Saturday’s event will feature live music, sporting tournaments, a dance show and an artist workshop with High Peak Community Arts.

Taking place from 12pm to 4pm at the Buxton Road school, other attractions at the fair include face painting, a bouncy castle, a barbecue, refreshments, a pocket money toy stall and an auction of promises.

This year’s star attraction will be a live samba performance from Chinley Primary School children in partnership with Ruido Grande - Glossop Samba Band.

Funds raised from the event will go towards teaching resources.
