Casualty flown to hospital after Calver crash

AN elderly woman was taken to hospital via air ambulance after her car rolled over.

The accident happened on the A625 at Froggatt Edge, Calver, just after noon on Saturday.

Fire crews from Dronfield and Bakewell attended, as well as the police and ambulance services.

The Nissan Micra had rolled onto its roof after it hit a wall and the female driver was trapped inside.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to cut her free from the car and a long board to carry her to safety.

She was flown to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The road was closed while the emergency services attended the scene.

It was reopened at about 3pm after petrol had been cleared up from the road.
