A householder called the fire service for help when their cellar was flooded with five feet of water.

Firefighters from Chesterfield attended the property in Oakfield Avenue, Chesterfield, at 3.34pm yesterday (Tuesday).

The flood water was affecting the electric cables of the property, so the crew used an ejector pump to reduce the water level so and electrician could access the cellar.

They left at 4.51pm.
