Wirksworth Swimming Pool has a clean up as part of filming a new TV series

ONE Dales swimming pool received the star treatment recently when TV crews turned up to film the facility getting a deep-clean.

On Sunday 2 September, volunteers of all ages gathered at Wirksworth Swimming Pool for a ‘community clean’ as part of filming for a new series that will air on Channel 4 in early 2013.

Every inch of the pool was given attention – from cleaning bathrooms to pressure washing floors and litter picking –and a lockable buggy shelter was even donated by the production company, Betty.

Wirksworth Swimming Pool Manager Glyn Booth said: “It was wonderful to see so many people coming together for the clean.

“We had help from lots of different sections of the community including Scouts, Wirksworth Colts U16 girls, local businesses and tradespeople, and I would like to extend my deepest thanks to all those who took part.”
