Competition is extended

Talented townspeople have more time to give Matlock’s beauty spots a little exposure in a photography contest.

The deadline has been extended for Matlock Town Council’s Photographer of the Year competition.

People now have until Friday, September 28, to get their entries in for this year’s contest, which has the theme of ‘Great British summertime’.

There are two categories – one for under 16 year olds and one for those aged 16 and above. A winner from each of the categories will be picked and receive a coveted Matlock Photographer of the Year trophy.

The pictures will also be displayed on the Matlock Town Council’s website.

Pictures must have been taken within the Matlock town boundary and both the council and the Mercury reserve the right to publish all photographs submitted.

Entries must include the photographer’s name, age, address and telephone number and should be emailed to news@matlockmercury.co.uk or sent to Matlock Mercury, 37 Station Road, Chesterfield, S41 7XD.
