Councils plan children’s amusements for parks

COMMUNITY leaders are aiming to attract more visitors to Buxton’s parks by bringing in new children’s rides and amusements.

High Peak Borough Council (HPBC) is inviting contractors to submit tenders to supply three parks – including the Pavilion Gardens and Ashwood Park in Buxton– with amusements from the start of Easter until the end of October.

Councillor Anthony McMcKeown, executive councillor for community services, said: “Our Pavilion Gardens already attracts over 600,000 visitors a year and benefits from art and craft exhibitions as well as its café and shop. We feel the need to provide more entertainment for young families and know that children’s attractions such as bouncy castles, slides and trampolines are always a popular draw.”

The concession opportunities are available atwww.highpeak.gov.uk. Contractors must make submissions by 12pm on Thursday, February 14.
