Crime keeps on falling
CRIME in the Derbyshire has fallen once again – signalling another sterling performance from the county’s police force.
From April to August this year, there has been a 20 per cent reduction in total recorded crime – compared with a six per cent reduction nationwide.
Police Authority chairman Philip Hickson said: “It is most gratifying to see that the police and authority’s commitment to bringing down crime in our county is paying off, and that we continue to be ahead of the game.
“This is a great achievement, especially considering that our force receives less funding per head of population than many other forces.”
The figures come as police authorities prepare to hand over to police and crime commissioners in November.
