Cycling boost

COUNTRYSIDE bosses have welcomed the Government’s injection of £12m to boost cycling opportunities in English national parks.

The cash, announced by transport minister Norman Baker, is part of a record £62m overall investment to make cycling more attractive for people in cities and the countryside.

The Peak District National Park Authority said it would “definitely” bid for a share of the funding.
