Cyclist in critical condition after crash

A CYCLIST is in a critical condition after crashing his mountain bike at high speeds.

The man was riding out of woodland on to Church Lane, Rowsley, at around 4pm yesterday when he lost control of his bike.

In the crash that followed, the man – who has not yet been formally identified – fell down a steep embankment. He was riding alone.

The air ambulance was in attendance and the cyclist was taken to Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, where he remains in a critical condition.
