Hundreds of Dales students are today finding out their A level results.

After years of hard work, teenagers will be hoping they get the grades they want.

Councillor Kevin Gillott, Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet member for children and young people, said: “This is a very big day.

“For many students the grades they get will determine what they do next and this can lead to high levels of anxiety.

“We want to reassure everyone that no matter what the result may be there is help available for them.” Students who have not done as well as expected should get in touch with their school or college who will be able to help them access support and advice.

As part of our A level coverage, we’d love to see your celebration selfies. Grab your results sheet, hold it high and smile for the camera.

Take a cheeky selfie and send it in to us – and we will print it in the Matlock Mercury and on our website.

Email the photograph to news@matlockmercury.co.uk, find us on our Facebook page – www.facebook.com/matlockmercury – tweet @MatMerc or tag #derbyshiretimes on Instagram.

Remember to give us your name, age, where you are from and what school you go to. We’d love to know what grades you got in which subjects – and what you plan to do next.
