Weather warnings are still in place as a steady stream of snow is forecast for the weekend.

There have been no accidents overnight and gritters have been out in force ensuring major roads run smoothly, however drivers are advised to remain aware that roads will be slippery.

Those who do venture into towns will find many local shops and businesses open as usual.

Temperatures are expected to drop to -2 degrees Celsius.
