NEWS: News.

An eco centre is offering Dales residents the chance to pick up a new skill.

Derbyshire County Council’s Eco Centre, in Middleton–by–Wirksworth, is hosting a dry stone walling course.

The level one training course starts on August 18 and is aimed at anyone wanting to take it up as a profession or want to repair their own walls.

It is a nationally recognised qualification awarded by the Dry Stone Walling Association and Lantra Awards and is delivered by master craftsmen who are all working wallers.

The course including the test fee costs £426 or £283 for those on certain benefits.

For more information, or to book a place, call 01629 533038, email ecocentre@derbyshire.gov.uk or visit www.derbyshire.gov.uk/ecocentre.
