A companion dog show is being held in Buxworth on bank holiday Monday to raise money for the local church.

The event is taking place at the recreation ground, Buxworth (by the side of Buxworth Club) from noon and is in aid of the St James’ Church Buxworth roof repair fund.

It will feature ten pedigree classes, 17 novelty classes, three companion club classes and two fun obedience classes with prizes for best puppy, best pedigree, best novelty, best obedience, best in show and reserve best in show.

Entry fees are £1.50 for the pedigree and obedience classes and £1 for the novelty classes. Rosettes will be awarded for those placed first to third in each category.

There will also be a raffle, and refreshments will be available at Buxworth War Memorial Club.
