The time has arrived to help get Buxton blooming again!

The spa town will this year be entering the East Midlands in Bloom contest, and organisers behind Buxton’s bid for glory want local residents to get involved.

As part of the entry, the local Buxton in Bloom competition has been revived, and entries are now open in a range of categories, from Best Front Garden to Best Street.

The categories:

• Best Front Garden

• Best Hotel/Pub Garden or Display

• Best Retail/Commercial Premises

• Best Hanging Basket

• Best Street.

Growers are being encouraged to think ‘gold’ with their planting schemes - this year’s theme to mark Britain in Bloom’s 50th anniversary.

Residents can either enter themselves into the competition, using the entry form printed below, or nominate someone whom they think is worthy of an award.

Cash prizes and plaques will be up for grabs for the winners.

Local judging will take place in early July, ahead of a visit to the town by East Midlands in Bloom judges, who can nominate successful entries to represent the region as part of the national RHS Britain in Bloom UK Finals.
