Double consultation for Bakewell Road site to come – says council
The council has hit out at cries over a lack of public interaction over the Bakewell Road plans – claiming it will consult, then consult again.
Derbyshire Dales District Council says the public will have their say on the future of Matlock town centre both before and after a planning application is made.
Addressing the Matlock people, leader Lewis Rose stated: “The district council and Henry Davidson will now carry out public consultation to help design a development scheme for Bakewell Road.
“Then, when the agreed scheme is submitted for planning permission, there will be a further round of public consultation.
“We want you to be involved in creating a development scheme for Bakewell Road – indeed we know that without your involvement, we will get nowhere. So we will consult – twice.”
